Durian party

When I was small, durian party at our house was like a ritual..when it is the durian season, my father would buy like 6-8 durians for us to eat. We would wait anxiously for our father to kopek the durian in the kitchen... me, my sister and my brother duduk bersila around the durians... During those days, there was no guarantee whether the durians were good or bad. Sometimes half of the durians had worms in it. Tapi even if we see worms in any of the bad durians, that didn't really make us lose our appetite on the rest of the durians... no fear factor elements at all.. hehe

Nowadays the quality of durians are much better. Couple of years back me and hubby made a great discovery at USJ 14. We found David The Durian Expert. True to his name, David sells super yummy durians but cost a fortune lah..So on those days that we have extra cash to splash and spend on durians, we would just camp out David's durian stall and blasah durians like there was no tomorrow. Up until I met David, I never knew there were various types of Durians apart from Durian Kampung and D24. David was the one who introduced us to Durian Marjerin, Musang King (ada turbo and tak turbo.. :p) and yesterday I even tried Durian Kaki Bulu.

Yeah..it's been a while that I really blasah makan durian. Think those days macam almost gone lah.. for some reasons, the most I could take at one time would be 3 seeds aje. Anyhoo, we had a small Durian Party yesterday. Spent the Saturday with the girls at Sho-on's crib in USJ for lunch then we went to David's stall. Ija was like craving for Durians but Dzul refuses to bring durians in the car coz of the smell. So Durian Party was arranged expecially for Ija who is preggy and takut kempunan if tak dapat makan.. :)

When we arrived the girls were like skeptical looking at the durians.. Ija specifically asked for Durian Kampung.. so David went like "Dukacita dimaklumkan tiada Durian Kampung di sini'.. yeah..his BM is that good.. told the girls try lah dulu what David has..let him choose for us... So David chose for us.. we had Durian Marjerin, Musang King and Kaki Bulu...the girls were like all in awe at how tasty all the Durians were.. siap beli bawak balik rumah lagi.. But lepas bayar semua menyumpah la... hahaha.. think we spent in total about RM 250 on the durians! Can you believe that!

I think it would be another month or two baru kitaorg gi balik buat Durian Party kat situ.. The girls sure dah serik makan durian samapai ratus2 ringgit.. hehe.. Ija, hope this ends your craving! :)

Waiting for the durians..

Sweet preggy mama

Even baby Mija could not stop eating the durians
