Bonus in! Bonus out!

I am just simply not good with numbers.

This is why my mother who was my primary class teacher had a hard time teaching me the concept of 'congak' and why Mrs Ho spent hours and hours giving counselling on Maths to me when I was in Form 3 and why the best score that I've ever had for Add Maths was 46%!

When I first calculated my bonus, these are the things that I thought I could do with the moolahs:
1. Pay debts
2. Furnish house
3. Go for special anti-ageing treatment and spa - Lifecode - I heard it's really good!
4. Go to dentist for check-up and consider the possibility of going for cosmetic teeth withening treatment like the celebs- The one in Yap Kwang Seng, posh place, doctor not scary
5. Blanja my parents
6. Blanja family - a possible holiday getaway which will involve a drive in the new car that I forever will not be given the chance to drive without giving a deposit to owner upfront
7. Enroll in gym which has a swimming pool
8. Top-up Coffee Bean card - a minimum of RM 300

But after getting my pay slip today I could only do this:
1. Pay debts
2. Pasang curtain rumah
3. Blanja parents + family = makan not holiday!
4. Top up Coffee Bean RM 50

Well, better than nothing kan...like I said to hubby, komplen kang macam tak bersyukur lak... but I can't hide my dissapointment laarrrr....

Hoping for better profit this year.. for better bonus and increment! Aminnnn......

My Cheeky Chickadees

Last Satuday night I succeeded in getting Yaya to sleep at 9.15pm!!! Used a combination of Yeen's and Yatt's trick... :) Tried to outsmart Amir but my plan backfired.

Ended up watching Tom Tom Bak, Bananas In Pyjamas and Bob The Builder with him untill 11.30pm. By then I could not tahan already. Told him that I would give a Chickadees if he promised to sleep after the healthy snack.

He slept at 12.30am and woke up at 11.00am the next day!

Happy 4th Anniversary!

4th year baru?

Feels more like 40 to me! eheheheh :p

Ever wonder why God gives us two?

A right hand to show the left what to do.

One ear to listen and one to hear the problems of others,

their laughter and fears.

One eye to watch and one to behold

the beautiful treasures that life has to hold.

One foot to travel and one to stand tall.

Two feet to land on if we should fall.

One man to stand by a woman's side;

One woman to cherish being his bride.

The love between partners

comes shining through

and that is the reason

God has made two.

May today be filled with happy memories of the past and bright hopes for our future. May our lives be graced with joy. May you always find happiness in me, in the kids, in your home and not in others. May our bond be even stronger as we continue to share our lives together.

Happy Anniversary, Nyet!

p/s: Some women don't need cards, flowers, chocolates or elements of surprise on their anniversaries. Please be advised that I am not one of them. Well, I won't make it an issue and love you all the same but kindly expect some dissapointment and crappiness if these are not fulfilled. At least fulfill one of it laaarrrr... once in a year only maaaa...
Thank you very much.

p/p/s: To 'The Shadow'.. if you ever read my blog..I'm not that bad of a person.. as much as I find it irritating and tiring to have you lurking around all these years, I hope one day you too will find happiness in what's best for you and that our path will never ever cross again even in Friendster or Facebook! Thank you very much.

Insomniac baby

I met Yatt online the other day and we chatted. Told me that her sweet lil' Arianna sleeps at 9pm everyday, without fail! Yatt is so very the terer to be able to do that. If I can put my 2 lil' brats to sleep by 11 pm pun I'd be happy enough. Sarah especially, kalau boleh macam takmo tido langsung. At one point I even thought of bringing her to see the dr..kot la ada pulak baby yang boleh kena insomnia ke...

Yatt said that it's not too late to train them and I have to make sure the father also helps la to tuck them to sleep.. if not, well, logically in the long run it could take a toll on our health, relationship and sex life.. :p so that day I was semangat la tutup lampu pukul 9 paksa the kids tido...made up a couple of ultraman stories... sang the theme song of Thomas The Train over and over again like a broken radio.. (yes, I was that determined!!).. father also came in but was not much help because he ended up playing with them till 10pm in the dark.... at 10.30pm Amir 'uk-uk'.. at 10.45pm Sarah went over to her datuk's room and bikin trouble there....even asked for cookies.. so, yeah...there goes my sleep training lah....

This is Sarah at 12.45am on the day that I came back from K.Kangsar... do tell me if you know of any kids who would be as hyper at the wee hours of the night and that you too are a mother who find it impossible to watch your favourite show on TV before your kids turn 18! I take comfort in the sufferings of others... hehe..

Dia ingat dia blogger ke nak stay up update blog???!! :p

Belum..I likkkeee...

I have to say this has been one of the most exciting trips that I've made. Well it could be because I've set the meter of my excitement level to be low from KL so when I reached the place and see the scenic view of the lake and the rainforest, of course my excitement level sky-rocketed lar..

I was told that the Belum Rainforest is 136 million years... that means it existed since dino years! If given the choice I of course prefer the beach than the forest la kan.. but this place is just simply nice. I was in the mood to get acquainted with nature. Walaupun ada mulut2 jahat yang kata nanti bila naik boat mana tau ada raksasa or ikan toman besar tiba2 keluar, I just did'nt care.

The Journey

It was a 5 hour journey from KL. There were 4 of us from B*N.

Designated driver: Kama

Main talent/Bodyguard mulut Mama Juwie: Kai a.k.a Abang Jem coz he talks exactly like Abang Jem (Salleh Yaacob) in Sinar

All time companion/victim: K.Arida

Me: Who slept for a good 3 hours throughout the journey

The Resort

Too bad we reached the place just before Maghrib so we did'nt have much time to explore the resort. The room was cosy but it had no TV. Only few rooms had TV. Nak tengok TV (with ASTRO) kena tengok kat Lounge.. which was okay to me because it's not like I have to share it with 200 people. It was just us actually. Anyhoo.. ada Wi-Fi.. so, what's a TV again? :)
Tapi I dengan K.Arida are both penakut like mad.. everytime we sleep in the hotel we would have the lights and TV on.. that night, no TV, I could not sleep until about 4.30am...

Lady in grey is Tunku Mona, the Director.. she's VERY THE garang! But she's really creative and her shots are all very good..she has directed for MAS TVC before.. It's a really good experience for me to be working with someone like her.. I can share my ideas with her and she would then give me even more great ideas and alternatives.

Food was good. The dessert I had was just super duper yummy! Forgot to take pics of the food lar..

The Boat Ride on Tasik Temenggor

Woke up bloody early to catch the 2nd boat trip to the settlement.. We were at the jetty at 7.30am...Kai and the production crew left as early as 6.30am..It was about an hour journey on the boat to the settlement.. To me the boat ride was just simply amazing... cantik sangat the lake... the rainforest... and the best is because it was early morning we could hear the birds chirping and even see eagles flying... K.Arida and Kama (especially!) were both nervous throughout... K.Arida takut boat tu langgar kayu and we would all terbalik...Kama pulak I dunno why he had to imagine ada raksaksa besar will keluar from the lake... :p

Of course there were some nerve-wrecking moments... Bila the adik (I think he's probably like 18 years old) yang bawak boat tu cakap "Alamak.. dah nak sampai ni la habis pulak minyak... pakai vest semua"... we were right smack in the middle of the lake... nasib baik ada sikit lagi minyak spare yang dia bawak..

The Location - Orang Asli Settlement

There were only a few houses at the settlement... I think less than 10 houses.. and all are from the same family tree... The Tok Batin said that his mother had 14 children... he himself has 7 kids... there were no electricity there.. Astro dish ada, for show only (???!!!).. but no electricity... so I was not suprised la to see all of em' had berdozen kids..

These kids probably have Macy Gray's genes.. :)

Teka sape robohkan pangkin tu... hehe.. serious.. tak tipu..production crew had to stayback to fix the pangkin...I hope she's not gonna read this... :)
The Shoot
We were all very very impressed with Kai... Thank God the Director chose him after the audition.. he was just a natural.. although he had to be under the hot sun for almost 3 hours he could still smile and really act..

We took the Tok Batin as one of the main talents and he's not bad of an actor as well.. I pity the kids who had to jump in and out of the water like more than ten times... for this scene... dahlah air tu 200ft deep..tapi diorang selamba je... we moved on to the next scene when one of the mothers dah start mengomel... kang kena sumpit tak pasal je... :)

Frankly, I was damn tired by the end of the shoot... luckilly I was not the one driving... we did not stay overnight for the shoot on the next day at Cameron Highlands, Kg Beng and Kuala Kangsar...instead we drove to Kuala Kangsar around noon the next day.. gile kan..
I hope this time around the TVC will look like a proper TVC... well, with all the nice shots I'm pretty confident that it would be. TVC is scheduled to be aired some time end of June --- provided that RTM tak banyak songeh...
Do let me know what you think when it's aired nanti ya... one thing's for sure this time around takde pompuan pregnant yang kena jadi bidan terjun for any of the scenes... :p

Belum Try Belum Tau...

Seriously..after Sibu and Song I have prepared myself for the worse..siap bawak towel and complete toiletries set lagi...I had imagined that I would be in a lil' chalet just by the lake and surrounded by the thick forest which is said to be home for elephants..tigers and well I guess other scary wild animals...

Took us 5 hours from KL to get to Belum Resort @ Tasik Banding, Perak.

And the journey is totally worth it!

Belum Rainforest Resort is a very very cool place!

Nice landscape! Got Astro! Good food! Wi-Fi! And most importantly clean towels without any unwanted smell!

Am totally loving it! Provided that malam ni tak kena kacau antu ke aper.. :p We're lucky to be getting a room with a nice view of the lake.. it's just that well banyakla pulak unwelcomed stories about the lake... so yeah..we will most definitely sleep with all the lights on..

If I had known that the place would be this nice, I would have started the journey much earlier mannn...punyala taknak sampai awal, siap gi office dulu and 2pm baru nak gerak..tomorrow by 7.30am we'll have to check-out already to go to the jetty... rugi...rugi..

Okay, this pic that I have taken does not do any justice to the place at all..dah gelap by the time we reached the place.. This is supposed to be a picture of the lake taken from the balcony of our room but here it looks more like a location for scenes in the Blairwitch Project.. was scared to take more pictures in case I caught somethin' else in the pic... hehehe
Will take better pics tomorrow and upload ya...

Happy Mother's Day!

Nope..no flowers nor spa treatment for me.. Hubby said that everyday is actually mother's day what... yeah..yeah...even Amir thought flowers were unnecessary... orang lain bagi flower pot dengan bunga plastic..dia suruh cousin dia lukis ultraman....

Had to take the pic again because Sarah nak enter-frame..muka bersalah because she had nothing to show.. :)

Okay la ni...

We took mama out for lunch at delicious, Bangsar Village... it has been months since the last time both my parents went to a mall..

Happy Mother's Day to all mommies and mommies to be!

I survived Song!

I am back!
I am still alive with all parts of my body/limbs still intact!
I am still sane despite the mental and physical torture!

First, I would like to 'thank' those who had made me feel so very traumatised even before going for this trip..because it was actually not as bad as what I thought it would be!

My journey started of course from KLIA and then to Kuching (which looked very much the same since the last time I've been there except now dah ada Coffee Bean.. woohoo!) and then I went on a Fokker plane (my first time) to Sibu town. Stayed at Kingswood Hotel, the one and only decsent hotel which had rooms for us... for a town that looked dead at 8pm and has a bakery called To-Be Bakery Sdn Bhd (????!!) I was surprised that the rest of the hotels were all fully booked! Had a hard time sleeping at Kingswood because Mr Tan, the Sarawak branch manager who travelled with us gave too much details on the hotel which included his own experience sleeping at a particular room which was haunted. The ghost had undressed one of the staff who was sleeping in the room with him. Must be a sexually deprived and naughty ghost, that one... :p

Woke up bloody early in the morning to catch the first boat to Song at 8am... This is the boat that we took! So semua cerita pasal naik boat yang horror tu memang tipu!!!!! Nyampah tau!!

It was a 2-hour journey braving through Sg Rejang.. boat owner was thoughful enough to play a DVD of Andy Lau's old movie with no subtitles.. so mengelamun was the next best thing..I actually caught a glimpse of a crocodile's tail while doing this..

Introducing Song!

We arrived at this jetty in Song..I am afraid of heights..I actually contemplated just staying in the boat.. look at how steep the jetty is..I was super duper terrified to jump off the boat onto the jetty.. huge gap between the boat and the jetty okay! Kalau takde orang pegang memang konfem tergolek dog kat situ.

And we have to fight our way through this crowd of people who were also fighting to get onto the boat! We were told that kalau air pasang, the boat will be betul2 on top of the jetty.

The VERY small town..Dunno why they even bother to have cars.. dahla tak ada petrol station..kena beli petrol kat rumah orang..

This is Mesra Inn.. the best place that they have if we ever need to stay in Song! The next option is a place called KawanSuka or SukaRamai or something like that... So hmm..no thank you.. I would rather lepak with the sexually deprived ghost in Kingswood..

Almost all the shops had these emm I dunno parabola eh.. And Headliner, fyi, I could not find a single shop serving Sarawak Laksa... Most of the kopitiam/small restaurants had 'exquisite' dishes like sup buaya.. daging musang goreng.. snakes..frogs.. sheeesssh!

Found a halal kedai makan and had this very sad looking nasik ayam..

We met the D.O, En Selamat..he is such a nice person and very helpful too..memang one day boleh jadi YB dia nih..Told us that he's of course bored to death la kena stay kat Song and the people there pun like going out of their minds already sebab takde mende nak buat... so he opens up a karaoke joint just below the place that he stays.. by the way, En. Selamat stays in one of the shophouses.. sian betul..

I was relieved to have met him because he will be the one to help us get the local community and govt agencies in Song to provide the necessities should we have the launch of the branch next month... It costs about RM 40,000 just to get some canopies to be brought to Song from Kuching (Sibu pun tak ada canopy supplier okay!) but he said that he can just get from the schools, JKR (wujud lagi,eh?), Jabatan Penerangan and some local folks and we just have to pay probably RM 5K ajer and another 1K for the local kids who can help out with the set-up..

We hopped in En. Selamat's Pajero and went deeper inside Song... winding road and very bumpy although jalan ada tar... itupun few kms aje yang bertar.. about 3kms after the bridge it's all jalan tanah merah tu..

Sg. Katibas..

Kids going to school crossing Sg. Katibas.

When En. Selamat said that we're going to see some rumah panjang I imagined that it would be like those we see on TV lah kan.. but rumah panjang skarang dah modern.. of course the rumah panjang old version tu wujud lagi but it will be at the really really really ulu place.. and the local people there tak berapa suka if orang luar comes esepcially those who may not be able to understand their adat well..

Inside the rumah panjang... this empty space is where everybody lepak and menenun or do whatever this ol' lady is doing.. it's called the 'ruai'..each of the door has a differrent family staying in there..

That's the Tuai Rumah next to the D.O..we were actually pressed for time because we have to make sure that we catch the first afternoon boat back to Sibu.. but the D.O said that if Tuai Rumah dah ajak we have to masuk and at least jamah the food.. it's like a pantang la.. kalau tak masuk and anything happens at the kampung like banjir ke..ribut ke.. then it would be our fault!By the way, the skinny pakcik in orange t-shirt has a big tattoo of a lady in bikini..don't play2..

By the time we reached the jetty, there were already hundreds of people there! We managed to masuk the boat..there were no place for us to sit except the at the tangga.. I was dead tired.. tangga is a whole lot better than standing for 2 hours..

Even slept at the tangga despite being squashed like sardines.

I save the best for last...

Reached the Sibu jetty and saw this man.. selamba giler beb.. very picturesque indeed! :)

All in all it was not that bad la... a pretty good experience... oh yeah... I need to mention this.. I think Sarawakian guys are very good looking... not just many but seriously a majority of them are... and I wonder why people say Sarawakian girls are cun because they are just so-so la.. really, nothing to shout about ler... unlike the men... hahaha..

Hmm... I wish I could say that I would never want to go to Song ever again.. but obviously for the launch I will have to.. *sigh*..

And looks like this May is a month of travelling.. pity the kiddies.. I will be going for yet another adventure to a place with yet another weird name... We are starting the shoot/production of the bank's new corporate TVC...
This Monday, for the shoot we are going to an Orang Asli settlement in Perak somewhere in Kg Beng nearby Tasik Temenggor.. because the shoot will be done as early as 7.00am I've to stay overnight in Belum Resort at Tasik Banding and then take a boat to the settlement...

By the way, while I'll be at a 1 star reasort guarded by the mosquitoes, hubby will be in Chiang Rai Thailand at a 5 star hotel for 5 days.. work and conference (yeahhh ritttteee)... See.. gomen people pun dapat pegi cool places okay..
The last weekend in May will be spent at Kg.Tekek, Tioman for a CSR and environmental program... haiyaa... I should be Tourism Malaysia's Ambassadress lar..
Have a nice weekend peeps!
